About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer specialized in Node.js and TypeScript to support the development of APIs, orchestration services, workers and integrations for a robotics and AI SaaS platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Build and maintain APIs using Fastify.
• Develop domain-specific route plugins and services.
• Implement business logic as reusable and testable functions.
• Work directly with PostgreSQL using parameterized SQL queries.
• Design efficient database queries and data access patterns.
• Develop background workers and asynchronous processes.
• Implement orchestration and scheduling logic.
• Integrate external APIs and robotics platforms.
• Implement authentication, authorization and tenant-scoping mechanisms.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Participate in architecture and code reviews.
• Optimize API and database performance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js experience.
• Strong REST API development experience.
• Strong PostgreSQL and SQL skills.
• Experience with Fastify or comparable Node.js frameworks.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming.
• Experience designing scalable backend systems.
• Experience working with external APIs.
• Strong understanding of security and authentication.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Fluent conversational and written English is required.
• Ability to communicate directly with U.S.-based clients and engineering teams.
